I feel like I’m bragging when I talk about some of the things I get to do. It’s not my intention, except this time, I am definitely bragging.
The super nice people at SeaWorld invited us to attend a press/blogger lunch at Dine With Shamu last weekend. We didn’t eat Shamu; we dined with Shamu. Don’t get confused.
While the food was way better than we expected for a theme park buffet and the show the trainers put on for us was great to watch, the private viewing they allowed for us after the lunch was nothing short of spectacular.
I was able to capture this photo of 4 Orca whales lined up with Anna and Claire in silhouette in front of them.
I really didn’t feel the amazingness until later when I put all the factors together that got me this photo.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t my good looks that kept them lined up, perfectly still. Their 4 trainers were standing behind us, chatting with one another. Like the well-trained animals they are, the Orcas never once moved away from the observation window.
If you happen to go to SeaWorld in Orlando now through December 25th, Dine With Shamu is $29 for adults and kids eat free (one per paying adult). So for about $60, a family of four gets a local, sustainable buffet, an up-close and personal Shamu show, and BONUS? Beer and wine are included. My opinion? Totally worth it.
DISCLOSURE: This is not a sponsored post, however, we were treated to complimentary SeaWorld park passes and Dine With Shamu. All opinions are my own. Details included may change; see SeaWorldParks.com for up-to-date information.
