I blasted Cop Killer by Body Count from my baby blue ’81 Honda Accord’s tape player.

I liked all of those bands and songs before most other people in my high school knew about them. I was a sort of liker-of-bands-that-will-be-famous-one-day.

So when I drive home from dropping off my 5-year-old at preschool, rolling up to my cookie-cutter house in my navy blue ’05 mini van, BLASTING Katy Perry, I almost feel embarrassed for my grunge teenager self.

Firework

What other songs should I add to my embarrassing 30-something mom in-a-minivan mixtape, errr… playlist?

Proximity to shopping centers, schools, and parks is the key factor house hunters consider when searching for a new home for sale. Essex County and Montclair, New Jersey, offer access to a downtown center alive with daytime shoppers and nightlife bar hoppers. Historic houses dot the landscape among the city-center architecture. Found amongst the newer retail stores are traditional mom-and-pop establishments that are frequented by the locals. Six Corners anchors Montclair in its bustling economic activity despite the recent economic struggles felt by most of America. The majority of the Montclair housing market has maintained home values steadily through the 2000′s.

Home buyers looking to relocate to Montclair discover houses ready to purchase on the market for an average of 60 days making it somewhat of a buyer’s market. Real estate and real estate agents in Sussex County are finding it easy to market the area as a great place to live. Families in New Jersey are moving to Montclair township in search of safe surroundings, lots of activities, and affordable restaurants in which to dine. The close proximity to New York City and public transit lure city-dwellers out to the suburbs of New Jersey for a quieter life with more space in which to grow.

Homes continue to sell in the Montclair area whether it be the vintage homes built in the early 1900′s or newly built homes around town. Motivated sellers have found their homes selling at fair market prices when buyers see the home as a good deal. The Montclair real estate market is fairing better than most of the country, though it has decreased but not as drastically as the rest of New Jersey. House hunters looking in the Essex County area are finding Montclair as a great investment locale in which to purchase a single family home.

Families looking for close proximity to nature and parks will find the Montclair Township has over 175 acres of park land for public use. Houses near the Montclair parks are within walking distance to soccer fields, playgrounds, and open-air spaces with nature preserves for outdoor activities. In winter months, outdoor skating is open for locals to enjoy on frozen ponds, fair weather permitting.

Schools in the Montclair Township boast rising proficiency rates amongst its students. Award-winning students and teachers are celebrated in the community with recognition of their accomplishments. The small-town atmosphere of Montclair provides for a lower-than-the-national-average crime rate within the Township.

Local home buyers are finding a house relocation across town or down the street as being a “good real estate buy” in Montclair, New Jersey. The security in living in an all-American town is fulfilled in the Township of Montclair in Essex County, New Jersey.

Today, Pick-a-Random-Photo-from-My-Flickr Sunday is born!

Here’s how it will work: I’ll ask a kid (whichever one comes running when I call “SNACKS!”) to pick a number between 1 and the page at the end of my Flickr, and I’ll pick a random photo from that page to post here.

It’s a super scientific process.

And isn’t ShuanaGlenn lucky that my kid picked the number 100, and THIS was the first picture on that page?

THE ShaunaGlenn, A Classy Lady

Do you wanna play along?

Hey, it could be a thing that could turn out to be bigger than #followfriday, and wouldn’t we all be happy for that?

Check back every Sunday for my snark-filled list on what you should be watching and/or DVRing this week on TV.

SUNDAY

CBS Sunday Morning (CBS)
Check in to see how Keith Richards is still alive and if we have a Japanese pop star robot living inside him to thank.

60 Minutes (CBS)
All about “Top Gear” (that TV show everyone who’s not American talks about but hardly any Americans watch. I’m sorry. I tried once. I didn’t get it. Maybe it’s because it’s about cars, but it didn’t do it for me. Maybe I should give it another chance).

Dexter (Showtime)
Last week, Dexter was back at work doing what he does so well: creeping everyone out. This week, Dexter will try to woo Julia Stiles away from the dark side and into his dark lair. Another reason to watch: BABY HARRISON IS SO DAMN CUTE.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO)
Jimmy’s whore girlfriend (what? she really was) shot herself dead in the head, and now Jimmy is after another heist. Hilarity ensues! Or something with alcohol and guns and naked ladies and people getting their heads blown off.

Mad Men (AMC)
Another week, another reason to love Peggy and want to stab Don draper in the neck while he’s mounting me.

Sister Wives (TLC)
IT ENDED. *weeeeeping* BUT, did you see that it’s been reported that Janelle (2nd sister-wife) was married to Meri’s (1st sister-wife) brother? EWWWWWWWWWW and DOUBLE EWWWWWWWWWWW.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC)

Blah blah blah I’m still watching even though the sister/non-sister/wife/non-wife/girlfriend came back from her absence.

MONDAY

How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
It was pointed out to me last week by my darling dear husband that every episode of HIMYM has a “lesson” at the end of the show. Now all I think about is Barney dressed up like a humping rabbit and Ted dressed up like a tortoise, and the fable/episode will always be wrapped up in a big red bow at the end.

Weeds (Showtime)
Nancy returns to her hometown. SHENANIGANS! *clap*clap*clap*clap*clap*

The Big C (Showtime)
I’m loving Miranda on with Laura Linney!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta (Bravo)
That Phaedra chick is not my kind of girl. And her boy toy criminal husband? You know he’s there for her money.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12

Ellen (find it your own damn self)
Bethenny Frankel is on and I like her. Judge away, people. I still like her.

Oprah (if you don’t know on which channel to find Oprah, don’t watch)
It’s the “America’s Worst Cooks Get Rescued by Jessica Seinfeld” episode, and I wasn’t picked. That’s stupid.

Glee (FOX)
It’s the Rocky Horror Glee Show! And you thought last week’s hubbub about the GQ photo spread was controversial. *rubs hands in anticipation*

Raising Hope (FOX)
The Halloween episode! I’m imagining a Rosanne-esque episode. pleaseOHpleaseOHplease

The Good Wife (CBS)
I’m bored with Kalinda’s mystery man. He’s cute and all, but, come on. No man that cute has an evil past.

Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC)
In my last TeeVee post, I said, “Michael Imperioli sexy?” and now I can say, “HECK YEAH” because he finally smiled in last week’s episode! Plus, crime solving will happen.

Sons of Anarchy (FX)
Irish accents. Enough said.

16 and Pregnant (MTV) SEASON PREMIERE
… should be required viewing for all high school girls.

WEDNESDAY

The View (ABC)
Joan Rivers is a guest. I love Joan Rivers. I keep waiting for an eyeball to pop out of her head.

Ellen (find it your own damn self)
Two words: David FUCKING Beckham. *lick*

In the Middle (ABC)
Halloween comes to the Heck household. I’m imagining Sue Sue Heck dressed as Florence Griffith Joiner with her 1-legged track suit and crazy fingernails.

Modern Family (ABC)
Two words: Eric FUCKING Stonestreet. Also, HALLOWEEN!

America’s Next Top Model (CW)
Will Anne ever break in 1/2? Watch and find out!

The Defenders (CBS)
I’m crazy insane pissed at the lack of Jerry O’Connell shirtless in last week’s episode. It should be a requirement. I don’t tune in for the lawyerly stuff for crap’s sake.

The Whole Truth (ABC)
I’m waiting for Rob Morrow to be less irritating. But, I’m still liking the show because they tell you at the end who really done it.

THURSDAY

Ellen (find it your own damn self)
Michelle Obama will be on showing off her well-toned arms.

Big Bang Theory (CBS)
I want to meet Raj’s deaf girlfriend. And I want to see Sheldon do the nasty with Blossom. Dreams, I has them.

The Office (NBC)
Halloween! LOVES Halloween at Dunder Mifflin.

30 Rock (NBC)
MORE KENNETH! MORE KENNETH! MORE KENNETH! MORE KENNETH! AND, it’s LIVE this week!

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
Cristina – get the to a psychologist, STAT.

The Mentalist (CBS)

I’m a girl who likes her food.

Obviously.

I’m a girl who likes good food I don’t have to make.

I’m also a girl who likes good food I don’t have to make that’s easy on the non-existent teeny tiny budget.

And now I’m a girl who wishes the closest Wendy’s to my house wasn’t 20 minutes away (i.e. just enough time for my chili to go cold).

I was lucky to receive an invite from The Motherhood to go to Wendy’s with some other fabulous Orlando bloggers to try out their new Pick 2 option for just $4.99. As a girl who likes her food, I appreciate the foods at Wendy’s, because really, any place that makes an un-milkshake (see: Frosty) that you have to eat with a spoon, is alright in my book.

Brown-Haired Wendy (what? it's Orlando. you do the math.)

Before going out to my lunch, I did some research on what the options would be in the $4.99 Pick 2 menu because I’m professional and stuff. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t hoping for much, but I had heard from other bloggers who had already had their Wendy’s lunch, and they were saying that the salad portions were really generous despite looking small for an entree. My other gripe was (and still is) that they include a drink as one of the Pick 2 options. I don’t know about you, but I normally don’t drink my meal, and Mama needs her sustenance to get through the day.

Lucky for us, we were given a $7 gift card to purchase our meals. Lucky for Wendy’s, that $7 was put to good use on my $4.99 Pick 2 meal with a Baja Salad, baked potato, and a small unsweetened tea. We ate in the restaurant, so I knew I could get my fill of refills on the unsweet. I was also asked by the brown-haired Wendy’s imposter impersonator if I wanted the chili that comes on the salad to be on the side. *quick brain thinkage: if she puts it on the side, I’m sure I’ll get an extra scoop* Of course I obliged her request and asked for the chili on the side.

It may look like a mess, but it's a mess of YUM.

I have to tell you, Friendlies, that the salad was yummy. VERY yummy. ¡MUY DELICIOSO! And, it was tummy-filling. I’ve always loved the Wendy’s baked potato with sour cream and chives, so that was a no-brainer. But having the added scoops of chili (see: I’m a ninja) made for a lunch lasting me through to dinner.

My beautiful friend April was there! @MommyNamedApril

If you’re a Wendy Wendy’s lover, I suggest you take advantage of the Pick 2 menu, get the Baja Salad (without looking at its fat content), and roll out with a Frosty.

The Motherhood gave me a $7 gift card to give away to an extra special Friend here, so if you want to be the big winner, leave a comment letting me know if you’re a Frosty purist (chocolate) or a Frosty daredevil (vanilla). I’ll pick a random winner from the comments on Monday, October 25th at 9pm EST (if I can remember – feel free to remind me).

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PlayStation(R) Move. All opinions are 100% mine.

I had this dream. A dream where I was given a movement-based gaming system for my family to be entertained by, tell you about, and keep forevers and evers. And it happened!

And then I had another dream where a different company sent me a difference movement-based gaming system, and my family played with it for the length of the entire dream. And then I woke up.

But in the second dream, it was a new PlayStation(R)MOVE. The new PlayStation(R)MOVE is a motion gaming accessory system that works directly with your PlayStation 3 that allows you, the player, to interact with new games in a very accurate controller. It moves where you want it to move. It reacts how you want it to react.

My girls are already immersed in the gaming system world and know their way around a good game, so games that get them up and moving with the PlayStation(R)MOVE makes me feel good that they're exercising along with the game.

Both of my girls are in school now, so we have less together family time. I'd be excited to have The Start Party game to play all together on family game nights.

Now, if I can just get that dream to come true, and the PlayStation(R)MOVE would magically appear on my front porch delivered by the brown truck, we'd be a super happy family.

But if that genie doesn't bless me with the PlayStation(R)MOVE on my porch, I can ask Grandma Santa to spend just $99 to add the PlayStation(R)MOVE to my PlayStation 3.

This is the face of a professional pouter.

She has been able to pop out actual tears since the moment the good doctor shimmied her out of my lady hole.

I’m pretty sure she has ADD, but at 4, I’m pretty sure they all have ADD. (I wouldn’t know because her 5-year-old sister has been able to follow 5-step instructions from the age of 2. I’m not bragging exaggerating.)

She is unpredictable.

She is hilarious. She TRIES to make us laugh, and we genuinely do.

She can throw a tantrum like Johnny Weir throws a triple-toe-loop-triple-salchow wearing fur skating to Lady Gaga.

It’s mind-boggling.

This face.

I’m used to the pout and her ploys, though I still see her beauty and cuteness.

But that doesn’t mean I’m giving her candy for breakfast or a pony for her birthday.

That’s what grandmas are for.
