Guns n Roses was my favorite band when I was in 7th grade.

Pearl Jam has been my favorite band since I was in 9th grade.

I knew about Green Day before Dookie came out.

I had mix tapes of Jane’s Addiction with that “dog barking song” that my friends thought was weird.

I blasted Cop Killer by Body Count from my baby blue ’81 Honda Accord’s tape player.

I liked all of those bands and songs before most other people in my high school knew about them. I was a sort of liker-of-bands-that-will-be-famous-one-day.

So when I drive home from dropping off my 5-year-old at preschool, rolling up to my cookie-cutter house in my navy blue ’05 mini van, BLASTING Katy Perry, I almost feel embarrassed for my grunge teenager self.

Last week, Dexter was back at work doing what he does so well: creeping everyone out. This week, Dexter will try to woo Julia Stiles away from the dark side and into his dark lair. Another reason to watch: BABY HARRISON IS SO DAMN CUTE.

Jimmy’s whore girlfriend (what? she really was) shot herself dead in the head, and now Jimmy is after another heist. Hilarity ensues! Or something with alcohol and guns and naked ladies and people getting their heads blown off.

Mad Men (AMC)
Another week, another reason to love Peggy and want to stab Don draper in the neck while he’s mounting me.

Sister Wives (TLC)
IT ENDED. *weeeeeping* BUT, did you see that it’s been reported that Janelle (2nd sister-wife) was married to Meri’s (1st sister-wife) brother? EWWWWWWWWWW and DOUBLE EWWWWWWWWWWW.

It was pointed out to me last week by my darling dear husband that every episode of HIMYM has a “lesson” at the end of the show. Now all I think about is Barney dressed up like a humping rabbit and Ted dressed up like a tortoise, and the fable/episode will always be wrapped up in a big red bow at the end.

I’m a girl who likes her food.

Obviously.

I’m a girl who likes good food I don’t have to make.

I’m also a girl who likes good food I don’t have to make that’s easy on the non-existent teeny tiny budget.

And now I’m a girl who wishes the closest Wendy’s to my house wasn’t 20 minutes away (i.e. just enough time for my chili to go cold).

I was lucky to receive an invite from The Motherhood to go to Wendy’s with some other fabulous Orlando bloggers to try out their new Pick 2 option for just $4.99. As a girl who likes her food, I appreciate the foods at Wendy’s, because really, any place that makes an un-milkshake (see: Frosty) that you have to eat with a spoon, is alright in my book.

Before going out to my lunch, I did some research on what the options would be in the $4.99 Pick 2 menu because I’m professional and stuff. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t hoping for much, but I had heard from other bloggers who had already had their Wendy’s lunch, and they were saying that the salad portions were really generous despite looking small for an entree. My other gripe was (and still is) that they include a drink as one of the Pick 2 options. I don’t know about you, but I normally don’t drink my meal, and Mama needs her sustenance to get through the day.

Lucky for us, we were given a $7 gift card to purchase our meals. Lucky for Wendy’s, that $7 was put to good use on my $4.99 Pick 2 meal with a Baja Salad, baked potato, and a small unsweetened tea. We ate in the restaurant, so I knew I could get my fill of refills on the unsweet. I was also asked by the brown-haired Wendy’s imposter impersonator if I wanted the chili that comes on the salad to be on the side. *quick brain thinkage: if she puts it on the side, I’m sure I’ll get an extra scoop* Of course I obliged her request and asked for the chili on the side.

It may look like a mess, but it's a mess of YUM.

I have to tell you, Friendlies, that the salad was yummy. VERY yummy. ¡MUY DELICIOSO! And, it was tummy-filling. I’ve always loved the Wendy’s baked potato with sour cream and chives, so that was a no-brainer. But having the added scoops of chili (see: I’m a ninja) made for a lunch lasting me through to dinner.

If you’re a Wendy Wendy’s lover, I suggest you take advantage of the Pick 2 menu, get the Baja Salad (without looking at its fat content), and roll out with a Frosty.

I had this dream. A dream where I was given a movement-based gaming system for my family to be entertained by, tell you about, and keep forevers and evers. And it happened!

And then I had another dream where a different company sent me a difference movement-based gaming system, and my family played with it for the length of the entire dream. And then I woke up.

But in the second dream, it was a new PlayStation(R)MOVE. It moves where you want it to move. It reacts how you want it to react.

My girls are already immersed in the gaming system world and know their way around a good game, so games that get them up and moving with the PlayStation(R)MOVE makes me feel good that they're exercising along with the game. 

Both of my girls are in school now, so we have less together family time. I'd be excited to have The Start Party game to play all together on family game nights.

Now, if I can just get that dream to come true, and the PlayStation(R)MOVE would magically appear on my front porch delivered by the brown truck, we'd be a super happy family.

But if that genie doesn't bless me with the PlayStation(R)MOVE on my porch, I can ask Grandma Santa to spend just $99 to add the PlayStation(R)MOVE to my PlayStation 3.

This is the face of a professional pouter.

She has been able to pop out actual tears since the moment the good doctor shimmied her out of my lady hole.

I’m pretty sure she has ADD, but at 4, I’m pretty sure they all have ADD. (I wouldn’t know because her 5-year-old sister has been able to follow 5-step instructions from the age of 2. I’m not bragging exaggerating.)

She is unpredictable.

She is hilarious. She TRIES to make us laugh, and we genuinely do.

She can throw a tantrum like Johnny Weir throws a triple-toe-loop-triple-salchow wearing fur skating to Lady Gaga.

It’s mind-boggling.

This face.

I’m used to the pout and her ploys, though I still see her beauty and cuteness.

But that doesn’t mean I’m giving her candy for breakfast or a pony for her birthday.

That’s what grandmas are for.
