If I’m getting all political up in this space, you know I’m serious. And when I get serious, you best watch yourself. There’s only a few things in this world that gets my passions burning, and aside from wronging my children, a twinkly vampire throwing me around our honeymoon suite, or taking away my TV and/or internet, my passionate inner beast will cut a bitch over the gays.

Aside from being confused about some people having the rights to other people’s lives, there’s the whole Being A Major Asshole About The Gays deal I don’t get. But this is not about the gays. This is about respect and lack thereof.

You should be tried in a court of law for treason.

This llama is the most famous llama in all of the World of Llamas. He lives at the Affection Section of Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Disney World inside of Animal Kingdom. If you’re lucky, he’ll let you pet him. On the day we made friends, he had a little something caught in his teeth. It happens to the best of us.

Naturally, he’s my new best friend, and I’m making him my muse.

Dusty the Llama was the model for Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. He was totally unaffected by my own celebrity, but I guess that’s tit-for-tat because his movie is one of the few Disney movies I’ve never seen.

Random Opinion: Photographers are professionals who deserve to be paid and/or credited for their work. Being the subject and person paying for the photos doesn’t mean the photos are yours to use as you wish. When you sign a contract saying you’re not allowed to use a photo for commercial purposes or change the photo in any way, the photographer means that. It’s the photographer’s work – not yours. If you want to use your image in a commercial setting and you didn’t pay for it, the photographer has the right to invoice you or request it be removed.

You may have seen these barcode-esque boxes around lately. Or maybe you haven’t. If you dont’ know what they are or what their use may be for you, I’m here to explain them in simple Pangie terms.

QR codes give you information about a product or a person directly by taking a photo of the code with your phone. OK, so it’s not really a “photo” but you use your camera to scan the code, so for all intents and purposes, it’s a photo.

In order to scan the QR code, you need an app that will translate the code into what the code maker wants you to see. Every smart phone has available apps, and nearly every QR code scanning app will work with nearly every QR code. (There are some companies who think they’re fancy and create QR codes that only work with certain scanning apps, but personally, those companies are douchey.) On my iPhone, I have QRReader by TapMedia. It’s free (with ads) and it saves all of the QR codes and information you’ve scanned.

But Pangie, why do I need to scan or care about scanning QR codes?

Coupons, discounts, information, being social, fun, learning.

All of those things and more are found by scanning a QR code. People (me included) are adding QR codes to their business cards to make adding their information to your phone immediate. It’s a time-saver, people! I’ve seen QR codes added to t-shirts (see: I have one) to wear to conferences (see: BlogHer ’11) for people to scan to get to your website, get your email into their phone, or send you to a website.

Who are using the QR codes? Tech people, marketers, regular everyday Jane’s like us. I found this infographic >>> that gives more information than I can explain. They’re growing in popularity by the day, and you’ll see more and more of them with in magazine published and on nearly every advertisement you see.

Have you tried scanning a QR code? What do you think of them?

It may seem like technology overload, but by scanning the codes, you’ll get fun stuff, coupons, and easily add information you can use to your phone instantly. Plus, if you’re going to BlogHer ’11, you’ll want to have a QR code-scanning app already on your phone so you can scan my chest. (wha? yes.)

And if you’re crazy-nutty, you can tattoo a QR code onto your body. At least it does something really cool.

No exaggeration, I have the cutest niece to have ever graced the face of the Earth. I dare say, she’s cuter than my own girls, and 1/2 a percentage cuter than my other niece. Yes, I’m saying it. I’m saying it partially because she’s still a wee wee teeny tiny baby and wee wee tiny babies are cuter than anything in the entire world. And, COME ON. Look at her:

This is not a sponsored post, but rather a story of how I have the cutest niece in the Whole of the World, so I gave her mama some eggs. Those eggs just happened to have been given to me by Eggland’s Best Eggs.

I was offered the opportunity to host an Eggland’s Best Eggs Brunch around the time that my sister was having Paige, so I took the offer as the chance to have a Sit n’Sip for Jackie to introduce her baby to her friends. If you already know what a Sit n’Sip is, then let’s fist*bump to watching Phaedra and her crazy-ass on Real Housewives of Atlanta. If you don’t know about a Sit n’Sip, it’s basically a brunch hosted for a new mom where friends and family visit the new baby, sit around, and sip champagne. Or as we like to call it in my family, Sunday.

Jackie’s friends came over to meet Baby Paige, bring presents, and eat the made-to-order omelets I planned to make with the Eggland’s Best Eggs and ingredients I was provided. Thanks be to the Sweet Sweet Baby Jeebus that Jackie’s friend Erica came to the Brunch as my omelet-making abilities are exactly none, and I was just going to wing it. I *bow* to the divine intervention that put Erica in the kitchen that day because if I had been the one to make-to-order those omelets, it would have been a comedy then a tragedy then a house full of burnt eggs.

I have a very good friend named Mishi. Maybe you know her? She’s a mom, a blogger, an amazing photographer. If you don’t know her, please get to learning about her and meeting her. Aside from a wee puppy, she’s the friendliest, nicest person I know, and like a wee puppy, she’ll lick your face.

A few days ago, Mishi and I, along with 100+ plus other Nintendo Brand Ambassadors, were sent to Seattle for the launch of the Nintendo 3DS. For us, it was a really good excuse for us to spend quality time together.

Quality time that includes insanely fresh seafood and me convincing Mishi that she should have a raw oyster

…for the first time.

What happened after I convinced Mishi that eating a raw oyster was a good idea because they’re super tasty, mucousy, slimy, smelly, stinky, looking like a horked-up loogie, was captured by my OG, MomoFali, in the photos below:
