The fabulousness combined of Maria Melee, Caroline Morningside Mom, and Deb on the Rox have put together a link-up of all people who love the Gulf of Mexico. Having lived across the intercoastal from the Gulf until I was 18 and visit several times a year, I can profess my love for the greatest beaches in the world.
Totally award-winning. Like, for serious. Actual awards.
I wrote a post yesterday for one of my other gigs about the oil spill and its affect on tourism and how hotels and beaches are safe and welcoming visitors. Just thinking about the beach being covered in sludge made me tear up and miss it even more.
THIS, is MY beach:
Don’t fruck with my beach. Kids eat that sand.

Those are gorgeous pictures. I don’t even live over there, have only visited one time. But it’s so incredibly sad for me to imagine.

Oh. What a glorious beach!! I wish we had such beaches here… but that’s why travel is so necessary. And I tear up along with you as I watch the images on the news… it’s tragic. The effects will be so far-reaching, it’s completely staggering to comprehend all the potential damage. So sorry. Le sads in Montreal for this terrible mess.

I like to walk the beach at night. Gentle waves, birds calling to each other, so peaceful. So far so good, where I live it looks great. Hopefully BP will clean up that mess so I won’t have to watch that I don’t slide on the oil slicks and fall on my ass. Oil slicked birds make me want to cry.
I agree 100%. Your beach is also my beach. Bastards better not mess it up.

I used to live in PCB. I knew your beach pictures looked familiar. And that whole Gulf Coast oil thing sucks. Seriously – how hard is it to plug a hole?
