Thats because you`re speaking of American woman who made difference.
In Israel we tend to mention “Hannah Senesh” as the woman leader, she was the first Jewish paratrooper in world war 2.

If I were given that homework, I could have chosen Florence Nightingale since I love studying about nursing and she was the one of those amazing people in the nursing world who made a great difference when it comes to taking care of patients. I wish I have met her in person. :)
