Holy cheap groceries, Batman!

in Farts and Other Stuff

We are Publix shoppers.

Until recently, we never paid attention to the cost of food.

Until recently, the economy was rockin & rollin and Mr Sir‘s pay and my store sales were up.

Until today when Publix was closed and the WalMart Neighborhood Market grocery store was open.

I may have to cross over to the dark side and (I can hardly type this) start shopping at the WMNM.

HOLY SHITBALLS that shiz is cheap.

That is all.

WalMart Supercenter or this new fandangled WalMart grocery store? That is one of the reasons that I am most excited about moving to Florida! California groceries are so fucking expensive and we don’t even have a local WalMart where I live…erm, lived. I love the bargains even if it is evil WalMart.

And you can go right next door to Sam’s Club and get shit even cheaper!! Like toilet paper, in bulk. And paper towels. In bulk. Oh, I’m salivating – thinking about all the money we save. And how we’ll never, EVER run out of toilet paper.

Don’t do it.

They never have everything you want and you’ll just end up going to Publix for the rest of your list anyway. Remember the groceries are cheap because they are a loss leader for them so you can get sucked into the rest of the store and spend way more than you would have if you’d just gone and gotten groceries.

Don’t do it.

They are good deals! The fruit and veggies are questionnable – that I get at a true grocery store – but everything else non-parishable with dates on them – hell yeah… you save alot of money! The WalMart near usually always has everything we are looking for – on occasion, the specialty foods it doesn’t, but how often do I buy speciality foods? Not Very!

My daughter shops at that neighborhood WalMart market in you Pleasantville neighborhood. She calls to tell me how much food she can buy for under $25.

I’ve been to that ALDI store (there’s one on Aloma) but it annoys me.

As much as I don’t like shopping there – I do ALL of our grocery shopping at our WalMart SuperCenter… SO damn cheap, it’s crazy! I don’t buy fruit there though, or some veggies – depends on how they look.

We had an entire cart, FILLED to the gills, toppling over – at any other grocery store it would have easily been $150 or more. The cashier hit total and it was $81 something… I just about tipped over. That’s all it took for me to turn to the dark side. You’re not alone!

Walmart is cheap. You just have to find a nice one that’s worth the effort to go to. One of mine I hate stepping foot inside because it looks dirty, cluttered and the clientele are a little less than desirable. Then I have another one which is the exact opposite. We don’t have Publix here so I don’t know what I’m missing.

Fresh & Easy though, that’s one of my favorites.

I live in Podunk, KY so Walmart is my only option. I don’t think you’re going to be as impressed when you see two grown women fighting over pot pies. It does make good blog/Twitter fodder, though. So there’s that.
