Our dishwasher is broken. ~Insert heart attack here.~ It won’t drain, and seeing as though I didn’t marry a handyman, it’s been broken for a while. I can’t count the weeks we were gone for the holiday, so I’ll say it’s been broken for 2 weeks.
Remember - I am close to being the worst housewife ever, so dishes really isn’t my thing. Laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and picking up really isn’t either, but that’s neither here nor there.
But, now that the dishwasher is broken, I have found something out that I didn’t know about myself.
I like washing dishes.
I will never say that again, and if you ask me, I’ll deny it. Waterboard me. Pull out my nails with pliers. Make me watch John Basedow commercials for 24 hours straight. I’LL DENY IT.
I have some sort of satisfaction out of washing the dishes myself, rinsing them, and seeing them come out clean.
How weird am I?

Well it’s nice to know that I am not the only housewife that HATES doing housework. My house can attest to this and my husband is A NEAT FREAK…..it’s a subject of many disagreements.
LOL, I find that I enjoy loading and unloading the dishwasher much more than I ever thought I would - something about the challenge of fitting everything in there in the best possible way… I am very glad that we have the dishwasher though!
I think washing dishes can definitely be therapeutic. But so can getting a massage. No dishwasher? I would have picked one out, paid for it with my hidden savings stash had it delivered and installed immediately…you see, I just can’t live without my dishwasher : )
We have a dishwasher and I refuse to use it - I too enjoy washing dishes. To me, it’s decompression time.
Gosh aren’t we just so spoiled. The minute we have to do it ourselves we have a panic attack.
I love doing laundry so I’ll reserve judgment.
