I Spent the Day at the Spa, All in the Name of Work #staySkyBliss

I’m kind of ridiculously in love with getting massages. I’ve had more than a few in my adult life and have probably only ever had one that I could say wasn’t awesome. They’re one of my favorite indulgences that I don’t get to enjoy enough as I’d like.

Angie staySkyBlissSo when I got an email from staySky Hotels & Resorts—a local spa at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa—with an invitation to spend the day at their spa, I squeed out loud. Like, seriously. Out loud.

What indulgence-loving girl doesn’t want to be treated to a day at the spa? Not this girl… or, wait. Is that a double negative? Forget it. You know what I mean.

The spa. OH, the spa.

Normally, I get my massages from a lady in the back of a neighborhood nail salon. They’re nice and all, but the ambiance is well, that of a neighborhood nail salon.

But the spa? The spa has an ambiance all its own. Good ones make you feel pampered, relaxed, and beautiful. Because I’d never been to the spa at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Truthfully, I didn’t have high hopes. It’s a nice hotel; I’ve driven by it more times than I can count. But I had no idea there was a posh spa hidden in the high rises of the resort.

Friends, it’s magnificent—a hidden gem among the tourist rigamarole of budget hotels and 3-for$10 t-shirt stores is the staySky Hotels & Resorts.

I chose two treatments for my spa day: Tropical Island Massage and Hydrating Island Wrap. They were combined into one VERY long, very relaxing session that left me oiled up and sore. And really, what more do you want from a spa day than to be oily and sore? It means you were pampered and rubbed and massaged and made to feel pretty.

Tropical Island Massage: “This ultra luxurious full body massage captures the feels and smells of the island. Surrender your senses and release all tensions as our skilled massage therapists create a massage designed just for your unique needs.”

Hydrating Island Wrap: “Your ritual begins with a gentle dry exfoliation followed by a relaxation massage. Coconut body butter is then applied followed by a warm wrap to promote hydration and nourishment to the skin. This process ends with a traditional Fijian Scalp treatment using warmed coconut oil which revitalizes and rejuvenates the scalp.”

You know, bliss.

If you happen to live in the Central Florida area, Reflections Spa-Salon is offering a 15% discount off of all spa services to Orlando locals. Additionally, the spa will also be providing locals with a loyalty card, providing them the 15% discount as well as 50% off their 10th visit.

Disclosure: I was provided with a day at the spa in exchange for this published post.

I want the Hydrating Bacon Wrap of Doom wherein my entire body is wrapped in bacon and an elite team of Swedish masseuses marinates me as I sizzle in a tanning bed. 🙂
