I’m all about bucking the trend and swimming upstream. I’m taking a stand. I am marrying a woman.
But not ZoeyJane, cause she’d make me eat all healthy and shiz.
However, in order for this to happen, I’d have to get divorced from my straight husband. And if I’m to live by the laws set by the religious ‘right’ through passing Prop 2, Prop 8, and other shitty laws, I’m assuming there will be loads of social help educating us married folk on how to live together. But that would be socialism, wouldn’t it? Doesn’t helping us married folk stay together for the sanctity of marriage and for what’s good for the family make sense?
Or will their next law to prohibit divorces? If protecting the sanctity of marriage of a man and a woman is so important, then where are their laws prohibiting people from ending their marriages?

Have you read Olbermann’s written piece on this? It moved me to tears.

Well, you certainly can’t argue with logic, can you? (I mean, you can, but you look kinda lame doing it . . . ).
Kinda crazy . . . there are people begging, pleading, praying to be let out of their marriages all the time. Some can do it with the click of a few keys or a quick visit to a foreign land.
While others would give anything to just say I do to someone they love. Anything . . .

I want to stay married and get us a house bitch. That would be so awesome. She could do certain things I don’t like to do *ahem* like clean. Yeah. That’s it.
Is polygamy legal? No? Damn.

It’s funny, the first video had me thinking the entire time “Welcome to the Catholic Church!”. Anyway–this is me, stealing your video.

Amen sister! You find the girl and I’ll get my Unitarian ordination done and we’ll get you hitched! I’d offer myself up, but I’m not ready to give up Homer just yet.
Well, you can’t marry me either because I intend to have our children mate so that they can make beautiful big blue-eyed grandbabies for us.

More power to ya! All I want is the pull out couch, PS3, big tv and maybe a few other accessories.
Good luck with your future domestic partner!

Why is it anybody’s business but those involved in the relationship? But then, I guess the same rationale that allows ‘others’ to dictate what a woman can and cannot do with her body must be at work here, as well.
I am reminded of a song by the Klezmatics – As I understand the lyrics they are thus -
“I ain’t afraid of your Yahweh
I ain’t afraid of your Jesus
I ain’t afraid of your Allah
I’m afraid of what you do in the name of your God.”
Prop 8 was done in the name of their God – the Christian Right.
This – the same God who is to have said, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” That’s MY God, too. But somehow, my impression of His message and intent is different than theirs. Nothing MY God ever said to me gives me the right to dictate my mores and morals to someone else.

that’s what i’m SAYING! make divorce illegal. when you get married, they’ll have to say “not even divorce can separate us”. that’s like, forEVER.
