We are sort of nice. Most of the time. But my husband, a transplanted Australian, thinks we are horrible drivers and he actually complained about slow drivers not pulling off to the side of the road.

And if he can survive a Canadian winter, so can you! Personally, I'm just hoping the snow holds off until Christmas Eve.

See, I can't handle cold weather either. If it's below 60, that is COLD!

While driving through Canada we were amazed that these nice people will actually - get this - pull off the side of the road and let you pass if they're going slow and holding up traffic. Who in America does that?

We would love to have you! And you know, some areas aren't really THAT cold. Like BC. It's warm there, especially if you're near the coast like Vancouver. Where I live, it is freezing, but only for a few months and we do have really warm coats. You get used to it.

And on the health care thing, your system confuses me. I just watched Sicko on the weekend and it made me really, really sad. I had no idea how lucky I was. Sadly, the health care issue alone is the reason I could never move to the States (I am tempted on many levels, but I just couldn't chance it if me or one of my kids were to get sick. That just scares the crap out of me).

Yeah, I loves me some Canadians too, 'eh.

Unfortunately, they're really restricting immigration now.

well, I for one would welcome you up here in the great white north of Canada! And yes, I am a nice Canadian. And yes, it is cold here. It is, in fact, snowing right now. BUT I do have FREE health care, ONE FULL YEAR of PAID maternity leave per child, and lots of hockey. Not to mention the wide open spaces and our dollar is currently worth more than yours for the first time in decades.

Canada is looking better by the minute isn't it?

And don't forget we have pretty strict gun laws here so it is highly unlikely that you will be shot down in a drive by shooting. It is more likely that you will lose a toe to frostbite.

By the way, it is spelled Mountie. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police specifically. They don't always ride horses either. Just for special occasions to impress Americans. Just kidding.

Not to mention their maternity leave policy - almost enough to make me pick up and move even with the cold weather! :)

LOL HockeyMan...I have to say I have often thought of moving north myself. Thankfully, I'm used to the cold so that wouldn't be to much of a shock.

I would love to live in Canada, not the coliseum. It is old and desperate for a makeover. I'd live next door, or in some nice suburb with easy access to mass transit.
