It’s pretty much like Christmas, but without all of that baby Jesus stuff.

If you’re new here, or if you just don’t know me AT ALL, I like TV.

As in, the first anxiety attack I had was in 4th grade because my parents wouldn’t let me watch The Cosby Show. For serious. They had to take me to the ER and everything. To top that off, my pediatrician was mad at me because SHE was missing The Cosby Show to see me at the ER.

So to say my love affair with the television and the happy things it brings me is a “love affair,” is an understatement.

I’ve had a TiVo and/or DVR since 2001 when they were first invented. It’s pretty much still the best Christmas present Mr Sir has ever given me. Ever. At one point, I had two DVRs, but since TV-pocalypse ’09, I’ve been down to just the one. It’s a rough life.

Seeing as I am a TV aficionado, I’ve compiled a list of the TV shows I’m super duper squeeeeeee-cited to see this Fall. Some of the new shows have already started (WEEDS!) and some are starting in the next few weeks (GLEE!).

Skidaddle on over to Aiming Low to see what I’m adding to my DVR recordings.

And if you don’t have a DVR, please quit the internet right now. I’m even talking to you, Chibi Jeebs and Mandi.

I adore television. We only have one DVR but we love it like a family member. 🙂

I first got a DVR several years ago through a friend whose husband is a cable guy. Free tv, dvr, and 300 channels. Sigh… I’m sad I moved. But for real, I cannot LIVE without a DVR anymore.

I love my TV too. I may not have as much time to devote to it lately, but it’s OK because I have a DVR. I love my DVR…and sometimes wonder how it was possible to survive without it. The horror!

My DVR, through ATT Uverse, lets me record up to 4 shows at a time. How I ever survived on recording 2 shows is a mystery.

Oh noes! I don’t have a DVR. I didn’t even have cable until 6 months ago. I came to prefer TV on DVD because I can consume mass quantities of a series in a single sitting.

My husband (when we were dating) thought my TiVo was just another useless gadget. Now he is convinced that the DVR is one of the best inventions of the modern age — just like me 🙂

I LOVE my Tivo – could not live without it. Oh, and I watch WAY too much tv, and I’m ok with that.

I’ve had a DVR of one sort or another since at least 2000. Let me see if I can figure it out via a little research…. OK, Dawn’s first appearance on Buffy confirms 2000. Now I’m three years into a TiVo HD *without* pay TV. Just over-the-air for broadcast stuff (the bulk of what we were watching when we had pay TV) and Netflix for everything else.

I wish I could subscribe to premium channels online without having to get cable. I’d even pay a premium to do so, although not too large a premium or that would defeat the purpose, obviously. Or even just individual shows. I’d probably pay $3 per episode to watch Weeds within a week of its premiere. I’d definitely pay $2. Oh, well, I’ve gotten used to waiting for the DVDs.
