March Forth, March Fourth

by Angie [A Whole Lot of Nothing] on March 4, 2011

in Farts and Other Stuff,WTF?

Do you see that *tear* running down my cheek?

Do you hear the sobs coming from deep inside my diaphram?

Do you see the pills I’m popping from the stress I’m feeling?

Today is National Grammar Day.

A travesty of epic proportions.

I don’t know how I’ll get over losing the last 16-1/2 hours of un-celebration of National Grammar Day.

Oh, I know! I’ll write to companies and tell them about grammatical errors on their websites.

Consider it done.

Now, I will march forth, March Fourth, and celebrate you for the rest of the weekend.

First, I’ll leave you with this grammar hint: “alot” is not a word. If you use it, I will have to punch you.

Consider yourself warned.

No one is safe.

If I use ‘irregardless’ will I be banned for life?

When I was in high school I did diagram sentences for fun. True story.

if you say “etcetera, etcetera,” you will be banned for life.

Or as one of my fellow bloggers puts it – “Know the difference between your and you’re. There’s a big difference between having herpes and being herpes.”

I basically ignore the internet for one day and I miss National Grammar Day? I think I’m going to cry.

If I see one more apostrophe used in a plural word, I will shoot something.

I could have spent the whole day reflecting on my poor grammar, but I didn’t. I win.

Have you read a handbook lately? Things are changing quickly. I’ll be glad when apostrophes go away completely. Cannot spot my own mistakes.

Deeply disappointed that you didn’t give me the heads up on this day.

Cause I am pretty sure you can kill someone for using the wrong their or whether or forgetting punctuation only on Grammar Day.
