Yet Again, More Smut Book Recommendations PLUS Revealing My Favorite Character

by Angie [A Whole Lot of Nothing] on June 19, 2012

I’m like, a pusher of erotica, giving you a taste of the good stuff then getting you hooked.

Because there is never enough book smut to satiate us all, I’ve been on a non-stop juggernaut of erotica reading.

I don’t know how much more my fluttering heart can take, but I will tell you that Patrick is just about over my *ahem* appetite.

Since the last installment of the Kindle of Ill Repute (i.e. my book recommendations if you like Fifty Shades of Grey or even better written smut), I started reading The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. TEN books and FOUR weeks later, I finished the series and still want more. The author, JR Ward, released the next book’s cover and title (Lover at Last) that will be released next year and centers around a gay vampire love affair.

Is there anything more perfect over which me to yearn? NO. Gay vampire erotica? I’ll be there with my pompoms and megaphone to cheer those lovebirds on.

I know vampire books aren’t for everyone, Twlight books notwithstanding. But if you like a series, you like some hardcore lovin’, and you don’t mind weird-ass names, try out Dark Lover. But enough about vampires because…

I want you to know about my favorite character in a smut book: Brian Sinclair.

OH MY HEAVENLY DAYS, I love me some Brian Sinclair. Thanks to Brittany for turning me on *giggle* to Backstage Pass and Rock Hard. The first book centers around Brian and his old-lady-name love, Myrna, and the second is about whinypants Sedric Lionheart (really) and his not-a-stripper/law student/ex-girlfriend, Jessica.

If you take anything away from reading my drivel, buy Backstage Pass. And when you read it and get to about the 81% mark (by reading on theKindle, I don’t know page numbers anymore), stop and write me your “Thank You” note.

JEEZ OH PETE, that scene is bookmarked, highlighted, and forever emblazoned into my lady brain.

After finishing the two Sinners on Tour books, I needed to wash away the extra dirty so I started reading Gabriel’s Rapture, the follow-up to Sylvain Reynard’s, Gabriel’s Inferno. In my first Kindle of Ill Repute installment, I rated Gabriel’s Inferno a 4/5 on my not-so-scientific scale. Just like GI, Gabriel’s Rapture is brainy and romantic with not-so-much of the dirty. There’s more to the plot line than most other smut, so if you’re into R-rated reads, try these two books.

Let me tell you something, smut friends. This whole Marathon of Smut Reading I’ve been on lately is paying off because publishers and authors are sending me books to read (see: Gabriel’s Rapture). I’m thinking it’s because I take credit for sending some of the books I recommend to the NYT Bestsellers list.

Dude. I really liked Backstage Pass, but not anywhere near as much as I liked 50 Shades. Something about how quickly he decided he loved her, and whatever her deal was…all seemed too quick and poorly developed.

I’ve heard of the Rough Riders – they were recommended by some other smut readers, too. Maybe those should be in my to-read list…

OMG I am SO glad you took our recommendation & read J.R.’s BDB they are definitely my absolute favorite! She writes serious hotness! She has written a bunch of stuff under another name Jessica Bird they are good and she has a Fallen Angel Series that is really good. Be sure to check out Z & Bella’s short story-Father Mine

Argeneau Vampire Series by Lynsay Sands is really good and Jeaniene Frost writes some pretty hot vampire books. Obviously my reading has a theme-Hot Vampires

Brian and the boys of Sinners are awesome! I liked Sed’s story better though. That last scene in Backstage had me scratching my head and saying WTF just happened. I just seemed WAY out of character for Brian.

Speaking of Brian’s…have you read Rock Me by Cherrie Lynn! Brian Ross is one Hot Tattooed Pierced Male that you fall in love with instantly!~

Agreed- Unleashed and Rock Me are very hot. I’m like you – on a smutty reading marathon and loving it. I am almost finished with Rock Hard. Loved Backstage Pass. Have you checked out the Fade Series by Kate Dawes? I thought those were good! One of my other favorites is Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye. It’s very short. I’m going to read Dublin Street while waiting for the next Sinner’s book to come out next week.
I just ran across your site and will be sure to check back for your future recommendations.

So I’m new to your blog, but have been reading smut since I bought my first Nook three years ago. I’ve only read two of this series, but Mari Carr’s Wild Irish books ( http://maricarr.com/books/wild-irish-seven/ ) are HOT!

Jodi Redford is one of my favorite smut authors. That Old Black Magic series is great! ( http://jodiredford.com/That_Old_Black_Magic.html ) Jodi wrote one of the Midnight Justice series for Samhain Publishing… I love me some superheros! ( http://store.samhainpublishing.com/midnight-justice-series-342.html ) Blade of Moonlight was the most naughty of this series!

that being said – have you checked out her Fallen Angels series? lots of action, lots of supernatural, lots of erotica, lots of intensity. so delicious.

I just found your blog and am looking forward to adding your recommendations to my reading list! I have been obsessed with smut books for the past 5 months and have been voraciously reading everything I can download onto my Kindle!! I would recommend Thoughtless and Effortless by S.C. Stephens. The third book, Reckless, will be coming out shortly and I can’t wait! I have also enjoyed everything I have read by R.L. Mathewson. Her Neighbor from Hell series has a good amount of sex along with a large dose of humor!

I look forward to more great recommendations!
