We live in BC and some of the fairs around here are just like that. At the Interior Provincial Exhibition they serve what are called "Saddle Blankets " same idea as a funnel cake served the same way but its just a 7 inch fried bread/doughnut thing.tastes great but has a million calories. My husband lived in Niceville as a young boy. We lived there 9 years after we were married and now live only 20 minutes away. I must laugh with you. The festival is a huge deal to most...not us.
