Obama’s Education Plan

by Angie [A Whole Lot of Nothing] on November 3, 2008

in Farts and Other Stuff,Politics

I’m a staunch Obama supporter. I’m a life-long left-wing, pro-gay, pro-people, pro-choice, pro-universal health care, bleeding-heart leftist. And proud of it.

I can’t help it – it’s the way I was raised. Thanks Mom & Dad!

I’ve been thinking all day about what to write in regards to my feelings in relation to what is taking place on Nov. 4th. And luckily, it was handed to me on a platter.

Please visit my post from yesterday, and enjoy the comments left by a (I’m assuming) Republican troll. I’m so lucky to have this troll hand me this pile o’ shit gift to me today of all days. Thanks!

Note: I’m not one for confrontation. I get the nervous tummy poops, then I run and hide under the table. Not necessarily in that order.

Another Note: I love Republicans almost as much as I love everyone else. Some of my best friends are married to Republicans. It’s all about equal opportunity in this liberal’s circle o’ friends.

That said, I’m so happy to have MY OWN FUCKING BLOG as my forum to welcome this discussion presented to me.

Sadly, I cannot have a proper adult discussion with this troll for the simple fact that I am a grammar nerd, I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and I’m just plain smarter than the troll. I cannot have a discussion worthy of my time if my first instinct is to take my “Teacher’s Red Pen” to the idiotic, 4th-grade-level, grammatically incorrect comments.

So, Ms. Troll, how do you plan on proving your point that your way is the best way when it’s so poorly written?

How do you expect me and my readers to believe that you run a business that makes enough for you to pay $72k in taxes when you can’t spell simple words correctly?

Am I correct in assuming the woman featured in this video is your hero? I thought so.

I welcome your discussion on politics when you begin to form your thoughts in grammatically correct prose.

Until then, I hope you enroll in an adult education English class that will be provided under Obama’s new “Socialist” plan to educate trolls like you.

See you at the polls!

UPDATE:

I’d love to have a true debate with an intelligent, fair-minded person. But when an ignorant, racist woman begins attacks against a group people on other’s blogs, I must stop it.

For the record, Ms. Troll, I have your blog address. I thought of putting it here for others to visit to get to know the ‘real’ you, but I thought better than to give you validation.

It saddens me to think that instead of drawing people to your own blog with your wit and writing abilities, you choose to get your attention by attacking others on their blogs.

I hope you find the attention and validation you need elsewhere, because, my troll, you are done here.

Yup. And if I *did* make that much money, I’d likely be more inclined to vote McCain too – but I sure as hell wouldn’t think someone else was “pathetic” for voting OH! BAH! MA!

YES WE CAN!

I loved VDog’s comment. Totally negated her rant.
Although, she was just a bigoted bitch the moment I read her refer to Obama as Osama.

Suck it, Karen. A long, hard, hairy fat one. Kthnxbai.

Just a few things —

The Republicans held the majority in both houses of Congress for the first 6 years of Bush’s administration – during which time Bush vetoed 0 (ZERO) bills. It wasn’t until after the change in that balance of power, in ’06, that we saw the first veto exercised by the Executive – it was a Democrat sponsored bill.

The mortgage industry problems (and our subsequent economic woes) started 30 years ago with the adoption of policies espoused by Milton Friedman, founder of the Chicago School of Economic Theory while a professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. His Laissez-faire policies (free market, smaller government, less regulation) became the mantra of the Republican Neo-Cons and attained peak effect in the republican take-over of Congress by Newt Gingrich, et al, with their “Contract With America”, back in ’94.

Sorry you waisted years of your life in school to obtain a master degree that didn’t get you more money for your hard work. I know that finger painting 101 was probably a very difficult subject. If all you have is to try and put me down for quick typing and not spell checking, that says alot about your character. And for your information have a BA degree and a small business. Less education than you but my drive and ambition has gotten me more that you could have imagined. I should not be punished as other hardworking Americans to have to support the lower class because they chose to not lift themselves up and try harder. I also happened to have earned my degree at night while supporting a family of 3 as a single mother with no support from my deceased husband.

Why can’t we all just get along? I will be so glad when all of this nonsense is over. Not the voting part, but all the bickering. Everyone has an opinion and that is their right! Trolls be gone!

[re=5660]Karen[/re]: Seriously, at times I’m embarrassed to be republican. People like you who spew hate and lies and either believe everything is told to them about the left or attempt to come up with or push on lies about the democrats.

I support McCain. I’m not a big fan of Obama but at the same time; I don’t believe he’s a terrorist, anti-christ, etc. I DID my research, I found just like McCain, he is a politician! They’ve all done wrong, BOTH McCain /AND/ Obama had dealings with Acorn. Both have had massive scandals and unfortunately both have poor education plans. To me, you vote on what the issues REALLY mean to YOU, not how they are told to you by FOX NEWS (right) or DAILY KOS (left).

But seriously; if you have to spew hate to someone and attack their ideals to attempt to prove your point, you are a bigot. If you seriously wanted to change someone’s way of thinking, you’d do it the correct way. You’d give them good counter points and provide intelligent discussion. Something most far-right (and far-left) supporters DON’T know how to do. Ignorant people like you are what’s wrong with this country.

Why don’t you go vote libertarian or something? You freaks really need to get out of the Republican party.

Oh and btw, Obama isn’t Socialist. The ACTUAL Socialist Party member on the Ballot is Brian Moore and he’s pretty offended about people misunderstanding what Socialism /really/ means. Oh, wait? You didn’t realize that there were other people on the Ballot? You didn’t research before voting?

Wow.

BTW – John McCain is a hero who sacrificed for this Country. He is not perfect but He gave for us. What the hell has osama done? What are his sacrifices for us? How will he protect us?

[re=5664]Karen[/re]: Names can be spewed all night, how about McCain’s ties to Gordon Libby (remember Watergate)? John Hagee? Anti-American Jerry Falwell or serving on the council of the U.S. Council for World Freedom, doesn’t ring a bell? Read up about the Iran-Contra affair. Joe Volger?

Both have made poor associations and poor decisions. Infact, look all through history. Name one president, or better yet, one person running for president (DEM & REP) that DIDN’T have a connection to someone that at sometime was either pro-terrorist, anti-american, conducted illegal acts or was a general despicable person.

McCain albeit not perfect because I never said he was, is a hero who sacrificed for his Country. In early times it was obligatory for the President to have served his Country. What the heck happened?

Um. Karen. If I’m understanding you correctly, by “In early times it was obligatory for the President to have served his Country” you are referring to a military service.

If that is correct, then please refer to the biography of our 1st Vice President and 2nd President, John Adams – http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/ja2.html

He served in diplomatic roles during the war, not military.

Firstly I want to give a big round of applause to Cabe. Seriously. It is people like you who give me hope for our country’s future. You are willing to discuss the issues in a calm and fair minded way among a group of people who do not see things you way. Kudos to an obviously intelligent person who does not feel the need to denigrate others to make him/herself feel important or right.

Without getting into my personal views on the election (anyone who knows me via my blog or Plurk knows them already) I just want to say that Karen has demonstrated exactly what I think is wrong with politics today. Instead of talking about IMPORTANT issues (and yes there are MANY) she feels the need to spew hateful talking points. Why can’t people talk about the issues? Racism and hatred should not be part of an election. Judgment and consideration should.

And for the record, and this comes from a person in a military family, while I wholly respect McCain’s service to his country, having served in the military is not an indication of being a capable leader. We only have to look at our current president to see that. And for the record, there has never been a requirement for military service before serving as president. I can think of at least 10 men who never served in uniform before becoming president starting as early as John Adams. Karen, please do get your facts straight.

I am a Libertarian (raised by a Republican dad and Democratic mom who are Catholic) and I support anyone’s decision to vote for the candidate they feel is the most qualified. I will respect your choice if you can respect mine.
I will support whoever wins, but I don’t have to be happy about it.

Now, I did not partake in any bloggy politicalness, one way or another this past season. (Which just lasts waaaay too long for my liking, btw.)

I tend to think of myself somewhere in the “extreme middle”. I find fault with both sides and find favor on both sides. I took several online polls that were supposed to match you with your “ideal candidate” only to find s/he only matched with 40% of my values. Really? That’s all I get? 40%?

I’m a bit more conservative than you, but regardless of that fact, and that this freakin’ election season all but sucked the marrow from my bones, I LOVED finding smart people online who could back up their viewpoints with whom I could banter. LOVED IT. It made me smarter…more informed…more so than watching more of the same crap on TV.

I hope you found some of the same…so F that troll – don’t let her put a grime on an otherwise very “shiny” time for America right now.
