You made me get all teary-eyed, dammit. It is super sweet that they are so close, though. That is really awesome.

Awwwww ... that made my heart melt. So much sisterly love. My daughter is an only child. She has developed a best friend at school. They have been inseparable for almost 2 years. As they are growing up they are each growing their individual personalities and interests. There are some days her friend wants to play with other kids and those days it breaks my daughter's heart. It does make me sad to see her like this, but it also warms my heart knowing my daughter's capability to love unconditionally. You are a lucky woman to be blessed with such darling kids.

That is so SAD. But I have faith that they will remain best friends. My sister and I are eleven YEARS apart. We are the best of friends.

Oh, this reminds me of when my boys (who are 18 months apart) were little! Even though at that age, they were enrolled in the same preschool class (that was *fun* for the checkbook) - they had some friends that were solely theirs, and not their brothers. And that sad little face, oh I remember it.

Good news is that they will always be sisters (and mine will be brothers) and your siblings are with you longer than anyone! I know that doesn't help cheer up your little one, perhaps an extra lollipop would?

My sister is 11 and 1/2 months younger than I am. We NEVER clicked as kids. Never played together. Never had the same friends. YEARS after we graduated from high school, people were AMAZED to find out we were sisters.

We grew up, were each others Maids of Honor and Godmothers to each others sons. But we are still not close. It kind of makes me sad.

I hope your girls stay close.

I just have the one. Until she realized she could approach children to play with her, she would just pick random kids on the playground and follow them. It was sort of amusing in a super sad, I-need-a-sibling sort of way.
