#SmutBookClub And Twitter And @alice_clayton

in And Then Some

I want to marry to two things I love: Smut Books and Twitter.

But there’s nothing I hate more than a Twitter party.

OK, that’s not entirely true. I hate IN-ALL-CAPS TWITTER PARTIES, people who complain about Twitter parties on Twitter, and people who complain about Twitter parties, then inexplicably end up being a part of one.

Also, I’m a complete hypocrite because I’ve both complained about Twitter parties and participated in them. I’ve also given my “professional” advice to people and brands against hosting a Twitter party.

But I LOVE me some Twitter #hashtag discussions. Live-tweeting a live TV event? YES, PLEASE. Snarky tweets during awards shows? I’M THERE. Digging on politicians during conventions and/or debates. COUNT ME PRESENT.

It’s part of how I find My People. The people who love my snarkasm, the people with whom I share a love of whatever it is we’re discussing. I’ve found many new friends with Twitter discussions, and I hope to find many more as long as you’re not a nard or Tea Partier.

Alice told me I should have planned-ahead Smut Book Club Twitter discussions with smut book authors. I immediately scoffed and said YOU CRAZY BITCH, and told her how annoying Twitter parties can be. And then I thought some more and said, YOU KNOW WHAT, BITCH, YOU STILL CRAZY, BUT I LIKE WHERE YOU’RE GOING WITH THIS.

I have delicate sensibilities and a low enough self esteem that I’ll take it as a personal attack if I fail at creating a fun Smut Book Club Twitter chat. Meaning, I need you people, the horny smut book readers and horny smut book authors, to participate.

I want YOU to join me and Alice Clayton, my super duper lady crush, for the first Smut Book Club Twitter Chat on Wednesday, September 12th at 9pm EST.

She’ll be taking your questions on being a smut author, being a humor writer, and she will be her generally obnoxious and irreverent self, all in the name of Smut Book Club. So she has some answers prepared, leave some of your questions in the comments below, and I’ll tweet them out so she can respond to you on Twitter.

HOW LUCKY ARE WE?!

To get ready for the Twitter CHAT (not party), make sure to follow Alice and Smut Book Club. If you haven’t yet read Alice’s Redhead books, WHAT THE EFF IS WRONG WITH YOU? get to reading at least the first book, The Unidentified Redhead. Then you’ll want to forget your family and responsibilities and going to the bathroom, and you’ll want to read the second book, The Redhead Revealed.

They’re like crack, but with less of the involuntary shits and more of the involuntary laughter and tears.

Even more specialer and exciting, Alice will be publishing a sneak peek into her new book, Wallbanger, that is coming (heh) out in November. Friends, that’s exciting shit right there and worth being online at 9pm on a Wednesday night for. What the hell else are you going to be doing that night anyway?

If this Smut Book Club Twitter chat has even a modicum of success, I’ll be asking other horny smut authors to have their own dedicated nights for which to take our questions and force them to interact with us, their horny smut readers.

(If you ARE a smut book author and are interested in having your own Smut Book Club Twitter chat, email or @ me on Twitter.)

And if you’re feeling especially smutacular, join the Smut Book Club group on Goodreads and like the Smut Book Club page on Facebook.
