I’m just gonna go ahead and break every rule I can think of today. The first being: Never post on a holiday. Ta-da! I’m a rebel.

Basically, today is the first day in Operation: Run, Fat Girl, Run that I’m making excuses NOT to exercise. HOWEVER. It’s not technically a scheduled exercising day. The brilliant 3-day-a-week exercise plan in #c25k leaves 2 days in a row where I don’t have to sweat my balls off in my quest to sweat the fat off. Today is day 2 of said 2-day break. So, really, I’m not making excuses at all. Except that I had planned on getting up and getting Ms Fat Ass out the door at 7:30am. And really, the snuggling Claire was doing at 7:30, 8, & 8:30 was way more important than hauling said Ms Fat Ass out of bed.

And right now, at 9am when I just got up to actually get Operation: Run, Fat Girl, Run up and at ‘em? It’s about 120% humidity and already 109º outside. I’d rather sit here in the climate-controlled Messy House searching for the perfect DSLR camera bag that doesn’t make me look like I’m on an Outback excursion for National Geographic. mmmmm… Outback…..

Plus, it’s kind of my job to tell you that I have a post up at Aiming Low that’s pretty much perfection as all my posts tend to be. *ahem* EXCEPT, due to some weird DNS/IP address/auto-posting/whateverthefrucks, it’s not actually up today.

So really, the whole point to this post it moot.

Happy Memorial holiday to all, and to all a good night.

Do you know my last name?

I hope you don’t.

It’s not because I don’t like you, it’s because I like myself more. I like to keep a little mystery to my life.

I want you to ask, “Who’s That Girl?” (you’re totally singing Madonna right now, aren’t you? unless you’re jenbshaw and you’re too young to know who Madonna is or that song she sang.)

Anonymity in my outside life is nice and planned that way. I don’t want some troll to show up at my house demanding that I bring teh funneh to her life at my doorstep. Though, if that’s all she wanted, I guess I could flash her my boobs. That’s about the best I can do to make someone laugh on short notice. I don’t have any other skills to offer the troll at my door. So if you’re thinking about trolling me at my doorstep, think again. You’ll be bored and shocked at the mess inside. Not quite “Hoarders” shocked, but you know. Surprised at the clutter. natch

My point? I’m not one of those internetters who puts all of myself out there to the world for easy access to my personals. I don’t use my last name in anything online. I try to make myself a Man of Mystery little anonymous, but still me.

Life online is becoming more personal with the explosive growth of social media. If you wanted to, you could track my daily activities online. If you wanted to, you could find my last name. If you wanted to, you could find my address.

But I’m not going to make it super duper easy for you to find me.

My point?

I’m not going to use Foursquare. I don’t want you to find me at Taco Bell.

Today on Aiming Low NeW & ImPrOvEd!, I’m talking about my feelings about the new popular social media site. (Here’s where you click over and read that post, too, even if you know my last name or not.)

Are you scared of trolls showing up at your door to make you flash your (m)boobs?
Do you share your privates freely?
If I share my last name and address with you, will you send me chocolates and not make me flash my boobies at you for them?

Me, too.

I also hate it when people talk to themselves.
Like now.

Don’t you hate it when people make fun of the less fortunate?
Is the answer supposed to be, “Yes?”

In case you’ve been living offline for the last week (and dude, get a life. online.), you know about Cyber Monday. What the heck is Cyber Monday? Cyber Monday is the Monday (duh) after Black Friday when people go back to work, kids go back to school, and us shopping adults spend our day recuperating from the turkey & the family & the football & the pie (OH, THE PIE) by spending their life savings shopping in stores online.

I encourage you to spend the bulk of your life savings, aka Cyber Monday funds, at my store, Good for the Kids. It’s a good store. It’s for kids.

Here’s my businessy information:

The response to last week’s Black Friday sale was TREMENDOUS.
So tremendous that we SOLD OUT of most of our Melissa & Doug gifts in just 3 days!

Today, we’re stocking up with our customer’s favorites, but once many of the toys sell out, we won’t be re-stocking until after the first of the year. Now is your chance to take advantage of the…

30% off Cyber Monday SALE!

Take 30% off all in-stock toys and gifts with the coupon code below. I already reduce the price of Melissa & Doug toys, so with the extra 30% off, you’ve got a major deal.

I’ll just say it. I lucked out. Completely.

I was/am lucky enough to be given the new HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web All-in-One Printer. (Try saying that 3 times…) Being a writer for Aiming Low has its many privileges.

In receiving the printer, I was asked to write an honest, personal review of the printer as I use it in my home and with my business. That’s good, because it’s hard for me to NOT be honest. I’m a horrible actress. I’m also a horrible joke-teller, but that’s for another day.

That said, I LOVE THIS PRINTER. I’m considering introducing a bill to congress making electronics marriage legal, that would probably pass here in Florida. We’ve always been an HP printer household, so I knows my HPs. I know what to expect: that they’re good darn printers.

Seeing that I loves a list, here are my pros & cons lists for the Fancy Pants (a technical term) printer:

Pros:
• My 3 year old can use it to print Disney and Nickelodeon coloring sheets.
• The picture and graphics print quality is FAR beyond what I ever expected from a home printer.
• You don’t need a computer, just an internet connection. You don’t even need a WiFi connection – you can plug right into your modem or ethernet.
• It’s pretty. It’s shiny.
• It’s pretty much idiot-proof. (see: My 3yo can use it. Not that she’s an idiot, but really, if my 3yo can use it, any adult idiot can use it.)
• Print cartridges are cheap (~$10 each) and last longer than other printers’ I’ve used.
• It prints double-sided. As a small business owner, that’s completely awesome.
• Dual paper trays, which means you don’t have to get up off your booty every time you want to print out a photograph of your adorable (but not as adorable as mine) kids.
• Because it’s connected to the web, there are updates to the printer that download themselves. (see: idiot-proof) HP has promised to add more apps to their already-large app library. And you know, apps are the new black.

Cons:
• My 3 year old can use it to print 100 Disney and Nickelodeon coloring sheets.
• As a small business owner who prints up to 100 pages at a time, I had problems with the printer feeding more than one paper at a time.
• It’s pricey, but they just dropped the price to $340. BUT, when you trade in your old printer (ANY old printer, in ANY condition), you can save $50. That makes it under $300 for those of you who are math-slow.

So tell me, if you were in the market for a printer (and aren’t you always in the market for something way-awesome?) would you buy this printer? Why or why not? What do you look for when you buy a new printer other than it being able to actually print?

The fancy folks at HP will be reading what YOU have to say here. (*waving HI!*) Tell them what you like/don’t like/wish-it-could-do in regards to this printer or any other printer. I bet they’ll write down, in a fancy-pants HP kind of way, what you have to say. They’re cool like that.

Gotta say it: My disclosure statement.

Today, is one of those rare days when I feel like I finished and followed through with what I set out to do.

It’s so weird.

And tiring.

I don’t think I’ll do it again for a few weeks days because my eyes burn and not in a good way.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

I’m giving away a $50 gift certificate to my store, Good for the Kids. Go, enter, take advantage of me.

also…

I wrote a tastylicious-ish post for Uptake about some Thanksgiving dinner buffets in Orlando. Now I’m hungry. And I’m also considering skipping the annual family turkey dinner and sending my avatar on a stick in my place. Most of them won’t notice.

also…

I wrote an asshole post on Aiming Low.

Way back in September, I attended the TypeAMom conference in Asheville where it gets chilly in September. I’m not used to putting the words “September” and “chilly” in the same sentence seeing as I’m a native Floridian, so I needed to stock up on some chilly-weather clothes.

Luckily, Lane Bryant once again saved me from shivering my tuckus off in the mountains. I was given a nice gift certificate to shop for some Fall weather clothes, and I’ve said it before, but I was NOT disappointed with their selection.

I stayed within buying sweaters and jeans that would carry me through the winter here in Orlando (or, as most of you others call, “Fall”). One of my favorite finds was this vintage floral 3/4-sleeve cardigan with my new dark wash straight-leg (yes, straight-leg) Right Fit jeans. I can honestly tell you, I received so many compliments without even begging about this outfit that I must have looked good. Nicer than this picture apparently. I am no model. Apparently.

All of the other outfits/sweaters/jackets I got for the TypeAMom conference will be featured during my current trip with Aiming Low. We’re taking a trip in our famous rocket ship to Boston and New York hosting some fab-u-li-cious parties for Hewlett-Packard. I am SO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for the clothes I received from Lane Bryant since I’m a Central Floridian heading to the northeast in the real Fall.

While my Floridian friends are family are sweating it out in the 89-degree heat this week, I’ll be cool and comfy in my Lane Bryant sweaters.
