Remember way back when a few weeks ago when I accidentally inslutted insulted my dear husband *gag* with a post about his less-than-stellar gift-giving abilites?

He just made up for all of those yeas of weird-ass thoughtful gifts.

Yesterday for Mother’s Day, he surprised me with a brand new Nikon D5000 DSLR.

I KNOW.

I KNOW!

Like, he saved, researched, and put on his very own credit card, a fancy pants camera just for me that he’ll never lay a hand on.

*thud*

Being the mad woman I am, I took over 250 pictures yesterday.

There has been many 1000 times (+/- a few) that I’ve mentioned how much I love the friends I’ve found on the internets.

The drama that lives in the little box is the same drama that lives in the houses in which they live.

Something different, however, is the vast variety of people I’ve found here amongst the masses of lovelies. There really truly are bunches and loads of amazing people out in the world.

I know. I’ve met them.

I call them my friends.

I’m lucky enough to say this with so much conviction and honesty: Piper of Love is one of the dearest, most beautiful people I’ve ever met.

Truly.

She’s drop-dead gorgeous. She used to be a fatty like me, but she took control, lost weight, and is now (not that she wasn’t before) one of the great beauties of the world. I do not lie.

She has two beautiful boys from a rocky past relationship, and she’s been through hell finding the right job.

She’s dated a few mens, and if I weren’t married and if she was gay, I’d woo her to be my lady.

Several months ago (I think almost a year), she met an amazing man. He woo’d her. He made her laugh. He loved her boys.

He asked her to marry him.

Doves flew!
Bells rang!
Angels cried!

Truly, the internet collectively sighed in happiness for Piper.

The date: 10.10.10

Pretty AWESOME if you ask me.

Until last week.

He broke Piper’s heart.

He broke her boys’ hearts.

He broke my heart.

He broke her friend’s hearts.

He ended their fairytale romance with one phone call.

Since that day, her friends have rallied together to create a circle of love for Piper. We’ve emailed back and forth for days (though, I kind of think Piper would want to be included, but then, how could it be a surprise?) coming up with ways we could love on her from afar.

I think we’ve done a pretty damn good job of putting out our love and support energies to her. She’ll be receiving loves in her mailbox for weeks.

I hope she can feel it.

I hope she knows she is truly loved by me, by us.

This being Holy Week and all, I think it’s the perfect time to thank the sweet, sweet Baby Jeebus and Oprah for the gift they have given me.

I don’t think it’s a coincidink that Holy Week falls on the week that I’m out of town visiting my new baby niece who is way cuter than your baby but not quite as cute as my own.

It’s pretty much fate and intervention by the sweet, sweet Baby Jeebus and Oprah that has made everything fall into place when and how it has.

Ending this week of fate and intervention by the sweet, sweet Baby Jeebus and Oprah by hiding and hunting plastic colored eggs filled with pennies, jelly beans and peanut butter-filled chocolate eggs seems only appropriate for what I’ve been blessed.

It’s all for the sweet, sweet Baby Jeebus and Oprah rising from the dead and haunting us as zombies every Spring Equinox when the Easter Lilies bloomed, the Jewish peoples ate crackers, and sweet, sweet little girl’s dresses went on SUPER EASTER SALE.

Or something like that.

I couldn’t have asked for something better, other than I did in fact ask for it.

I love my two girls more than anything else on Earth.

But I only want the two that the sweet, sweet Baby Jeebus and Oprah implanted in my lady womb.

Any more, and I would might have needed an Express Van to the looney bin.

This incredibly adorable sweet, sweet baby and her sweet, sweet smells and her sweet, sweet coos do not make my uterus ache.

She makes me fortunate to have a husband who had his nuts disconnected from the other parts of his body.

I’ve been a little lackluster on the posting lately.
Don’t you hate it when people talk about not posting? I mean, just don’t post. No one really cares.

I like to only post when there’s something to post about.
Don’t you hate it when people give fake-ass excuses for not posting?

There’s no drama in my life to whine blog about.
The last time I talked about having no drama in my life, a shitstorm met me at the back door and stuck around for a year. This is me tempting that scabby diseased cheap whore, Fate.

Since it’s Wednesday, I’ll get away with posting a Wordless Wednesday.
Cause I’m lazy like that.

I found this on my car window one frosty morning last week.
Really, this is a re-creation of what I found because in my haste to get the bi-polar preschooler to school, I rubbed off the original. Still, the sentiment is what matters.

I know. Kind of makes me barf, too.
But in a good way.

I have rules for things. Things that don’t need rules.

• Rules for naming my girls: no nicknames (“Angie” for “Angela”), no double letters (Lily Lynch), no uber-popular names (Katelyn, Emma).
• I’m a grammar nerd, and I expect other people to live up to my expectations with the written word.
• I possess the TV remote unless sports are being shown.
• Kraft Mayo.

My own rules can be hard to live by, yet I still make them.

I have a rule for Christmas/Holiday cards: no pictures of the parents. No one wants to see you. They want to see cash your kids, if anyone. Really. If you put your own picture in your Christmas/Holiday card, I will compare you to your last year’s photograph to see how much weight you’ve gained. I know you’d do the same to me.

My Christmas/Holiday cards also have to prominently feature the photograph(s). They have to be pretty, but not frilly. They need to be simple, but not boring. They need to be flat so I don’t have to think of anything witty to write on the inside of a folded card.

It takes me an estimated 3 weeks every year to search for the perfect Christmas/Holiday card. I’m not joking. It’s kind of sad.

This year, I was lucky enough to be approached by Tiny Prints to print and review Christmas/Holiday cards. Oh sweet Jeebus, that makes me narrow down my search to just one photo card site.

It still took me 3 weeks to search for the perfect card. Sad.

It took me 3 weeks because there really are THAT many incredible designs from which to choose for our Christmas/Holiday photo card. To top that, if there’s something I wanted to change on the card, the Tiny Prints graphic gurus would change it for me. (Not just for me ’cause I’m awesome, but they’ll do it for anyone.)

I finally picked a card I liked that matched my girls dresses (yeah, I do that. shut it.), that was simple, yet cute, and also featured my girls in all their cuteness.
