I’m not a writer.
I write.
Quantifying me as a “writer” is not in my descriptors. Not even in the top 10 things of What I Am.
But here I am writing as you now read.
I’ve spent the last 3 days at the Type A Mom conference in Asheville NC (iwanttogobacktohere) listening to so many other women bloggers quantify themselves as writers.
They write to release emotions. They write to share experiences. They write for a living. They write to define themselves.
They do it well; sometimes they do it better than well. They do it with a heavy dose of Awesome.
Me? I brain spew. I get out teh funneh in this little box in my little slice o’ Blogosphere and hope people read it and comment.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have the freedom I’ve given myself to say/write/spew any freaky thought that escapes my wee brain. As long as it brings the LOLs.
Now that I’ve reached my Posts Must Be Read in Under 1 Minute Rule, I’m realizing this isn’t really bringing the LOLs so much as it’s a brain dumpage post.
But really, isn’t that the ultimate point of this hole in the Blogosphere?
I have succeeded in Awesome.

So a) hellzya you’re awesome b) writing is about connecting. I don’t give a flying shit what you write like grammatically IF you connect to your audience. As long as you can connect and get emotions drawn out? (lol, thoughts, friendship, etc) then you’re a raging success in my eyes.

I enjoy your writing. I think you have a way with words that not many other people do. And thats what matters. Almost all the best writers never consider their selfs any good at it. Some of the more popular authors didn’t even classify their own self as ‘writers’. And I’m talking people with huge hits. Of course, most of them didn’t become ‘hits’ till after they died…
Either way. Your writing is amazing.

I tend to avoid anyone who describes themselves a “writer” and stick with the LOL crowd. The posts are more enjoyable that way.

I know what you mean. I’m only a writer for my job – in which I’m technically a freelance technical writer. And I write up long, boring documents about software that nobody in their right mind wants to read (unless you have a raging case of insomnia, because if so, DUDE have I got a cure for you!).
But blogging as my passion? Hmm. I don’t know. Sure, it’s a fun hobby. I like to write up random little stories about stuff that’s happened in my life and whatever cute new thing my kid is doing. But I dont know if I define myself as a “writer” in that sense. Ain’t nobody ever gonna offer me a book deal based on my blog, y’know?
But you? You are Awesome. And hilarious. Keep bringin’ the LOLs, lady.

I want to say I write for me, but every blogger really writes for an audience after they get their first comment from non family members.
Sometimes my writing is hiilarious, on purpose. Sometimes it’s funny in an embarrassing to me kind of way that I am unaware of. Sometimes I am even told I should write a book and that is just plain funny in itself.
As long as we’re awesome in our own heads isn’t that enough? Or is it? Only you can decide that for you.

Despite what you may think about yourself, I think you are a damn great writer.
However, I know what you mean. Do I think I am a writer because I poor my emotions and musing into my blog? No, I do it to keep my sanity and feel like am not wasting away in motherland. Does that mean one day I may classify myself as a writer, maybe, not now, but maybe.
Keep up up the great work, because believe it or not, I look up to you and your writing.
